RULES FOR EQUESTRIAN USE OF INDOOR ARENA
1.
All
riders must prominently display evidence of a Township Facility Use Permit
while riding. (As
an example, the Alexandria Equestrian Association tag showing that the rider is
a current AEA member is sufficient evidence of a valid permit.)
2.
All
riders must sign a release form by printing and signing your name, permit
number (e.g., AEA tag #), date, and time entering and exiting
arena. Failure to sign in could
jeopardize your arena privilege.
3.
It
is the responsibility of each rider to wet down the footing (if necessary) in
order to minimize dust. Water
connections and hose are in the arena.
4.
All
trucks and trailers must be parked in the large parking lot on the right as you
enter the park. Trucks and trailers are
not to be parked next to the arena. You
must lead your horse into and out of the arena.
5.
You
may only be mounted within the indoor or outdoor arena. You must dismount when leaving the arenas.
6.
No
horses will be tied to structures or equipment in the arena.
7.
No
jumping.
8.
All
manure must be picked up and removed from the site whether in the arena, stall
areas, or in the parking area.
9.
Absolutely
No Smoking
within the arena area or within 50 feet of the building.
10.
All
coaches/trainers/students must have a Township facility use permit. Trainers may give lessons to only one
student at a time.
11.
Last
rider leaving arena must shut off the lights and close all doors.
12.
Any
riders failing to obey these rules or acting/riding in a discourteous or unsafe
manner will jeopardize their arena use privilege.
13.
It
is the responsibility of all riders to observe these rules. Report infractions to Mr. Sal Aversa, Park
Committee, 996-0014, for action. If
infractions are allowed to go unheeded, it could cost us all our arena
privileges.
1.
Do
not stand in the entranceway to the arena.
2.
Riders
riding in opposite directions should pass left shoulder to left shoulder.
3.
Slow
riders should stay off the wall 8 feet to allow faster riders to pass to the
outside.
4.
When
lungeing/longlining, stay to the middle of the arena to allow horses to pass
along the outside wall.
5.
To
not startle horses when entering arena, stop, look for horses traveling near
the entrance and speak up about your entering (e.g. say loudly “gate”)
6.
Acclimate
your horse to the arena and noises before mounting. Do not mount if your horse is overly excited.
7.
With
the exception of the bridle, tack up your horse at the trailer.
8.
The
maximum number of riders in the arena will be 10.
